Faith has her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, GA and her B.A. in International Affairs: Diplomatic and International Service from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. During her clinical year for her Master's, she worked at My Sister's House, a shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness, where she led the Grief/Loss Support groups and co-facilitated the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy classes. She also worked at The Hope Counseling Center in Atlanta and helped pioneer process groups for the Social and Cultural Issues class at Richmont to help train future counselors in social and cultural awareness and in group therapy. She loves working with individuals looking to gain healthy coping skills to deal with distress, depression, and anxiety; people hoping to improve their emotional regulation, self-awareness, and interpersonal effectiveness; and couples wanting to work to understand each other better and communicate in healthier ways.
I use an eclectic, person-centered approach to treatment, finding which approach is the best match for each individual. I work with individuals seeking counseling for various different presenting problems, including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, anger, grief and loss, and life transitions. I value building strong therapeutic relationships with clients to help them feel comfortable and to assist their treatment progress. I provide clients with skills and support to collaboratively help them reach their life goals.
I am a Veteran who decided to change career paths and become a counselor. I am finishing my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Saint Rose and hold a Bachelors from there in Psychology. I enjoy helping individuals find motivation within themselves to change their lives, situations and/or relationships for the better. I assist individuals to identify the choices they can make in their own lives to reach their goals. I am known for being a good listener, caring, sensitive, and empathetic. I have a lifetime of experience and wisdom to draw from, which is invaluable! I look forward to working with you!
